Mathilde & Cyril's Wedding
Today we take a look at Mathilde's story, a great love story and a beautiful wedding !
The encounter and the proposal :
We met in 2017 at a back-to-school student gala and immediately fell in love !
The proposal took place on the shores of Lake Como during a trip to Milan in April 2022. It was all magical! The funny thing was that my ring, which was made to measure, didn't arrive in time for the trip, so the jeweller lent him a fake ring with fake diamonds (of course, I didn't know until afterwards !).
A rather funny anecdote is that our respective parents were each looking for a flat in Paris in 2016 (without knowing each other) (mine wanted to buy a bigger place, his parents were returning from New York to live in Paris) after we met, when Cyril came to the house we realised that it was on the flat that my parents had bought that his parents had made an offer which had been declined in favour of my parents! We almost lived in the same flat !
An unforgettable memory of the day
The most striking memory is undoubtedly entering the church on my dad's arm.
The dream venue
We got married in the magnificent Château de Robernier (Var)! We fell in love with the Château when we visited in 2022! It's a real princess's castle, and the castle's inner courtyard means you can dine outside !
The atmosphere was magical, a bit like a fairytale. We didn't have a theme for our wedding, it was a classic wedding, just like us!
Inspirations for the dress
Choosing my dresses was pretty easy ! I had one idea in mind: a boat-neck princess dress, so when I came across the Hope model from pronovias I knew it was the one for me (it was the only one I tried on).
For the civil ceremony I wanted a long dress that I could wear again for the church wedding dinner. I wanted a more modern dress with lace on the top and fluid on the bottom, and I fell in love with the Delon model from Chez Laure de Sagazan, which was also the only model I tried on !
Shoe design inspirations
When designing the shoes, I wanted comfortable but high shoes ! As I'm only 1.60m tall and my husband is 1.80m tall, I wanted a 10cm heel ! So I opted for the Salomé 10cm chunky heels !
For the colour I wanted golden princess shoes so I went for glitter champagne and iridescent champagne! It was sublime! Thank you so much for drawing me a shoe !
Advice and service providers
My advice to brides is to choose your service providers carefully, to trust each other and to go with your heart's content ! My wedding wouldn't have been the same without my make-up artist, the photographer or the caterer! Their patience, attentiveness and kindness kept me stress-free ! Knowing that everything was perfectly managed was a real relief !
