Amélie & Jérémy
They got married in Dessine-moi un soulier.
They trusted us for their big day – read the stories of our beautifully shod brides.
How they met
I met my husband 12 years ago at capoeira, so not at all in a glamorous and sexy way... but rather in a sweaty and sporty way.
The proposal
Very romantic in a great restaurant, we were coming out of lockdown and he gave me a ring and proposed to me.
The best moment of the beautiful day
When he saw me in my dress and cried!
Your inspirations
We quickly agreed on the theme, we both love blue so that color was our essential, and the bohemian theme immediately spoke to us... we wanted it to reflect us with wood, natural elements, and flowers ! We searched a lot on Pinterest and the Internet, exchanged ideas, and when we agreed on something, we said, "OK, this speaks to us," it felt natural.
For the dress, I was specific: I wanted a flowing dress where I felt comfortable with an open back. I had this image in mind, so the choice of bespoke quickly became apparent. I chose a designer who works with organic cotton, and most importantly, I wanted it to be local.
And so, for the shoes, I wanted to break the mold with colored shoes, hence the blue shoes.
Advice for young brides
My advice is to listen to yourself, trust yourself, make your own choices, especially if you are paying for your wedding because no one should impose their choices on you. Feel comfortable, take time for yourself before and after the big day with massages and relaxation...
Creating the shoes
I discovered the website "Dessine-moi un soulier" while browsing the Internet. What I liked was the ability to create my own shoe, and that was the best part. I think the site is well-designed for the creation process, the assistance is well done, and the choice of materials is incredible.
I chose my color, blue, then I selected a slightly retro model reminiscent of 1950s shoes that reminded me of my grandmother's shoes with the open toe... when I created it, I thought: that's exactly it... I was a fan, and then I went for velvet.
Finally, for the heel, I chose a curve that I could handle all day long... Not too short and not too high either!! Girls, especially, remember that you will wear them all day, so be comfortable...
Tips & advice
Listen to yourself, have confidence in yourself, it's your day, enjoy yourself, and plan for flat shoes around 2 a.m.!!!
