The meeting

After 4 years living in Paris, I decided to return to my roots in Lorraine following a rather complicated break-up. When I came back to Nancy, meeting someone wasn't on my mind at all. But one evening, I decided to register on a dating site to kill time, and I liked Julien's photos. The exchanges of text messages and phone calls began. We met on August 15, which wasn't at all obvious to me, but we saw each other every day for a week and became inseparable.

Our story began 4 years ago, we moved in together two months after we met and the rest came naturally.

The request

We became parents of a beautiful little boy in August 2019. During my pregnancy, I felt a great need to have the same name as my little boy and to be one with him and Julien.

I wanted to simply drop by the town hall and celebrate when Abel was older. But Julien didn't think so. I resigned myself!

Two months after becoming a parent, my desire was more than present, so I decided to take the lead. It was a simple decision, just like our relationship.

I decided to propose to him one night after we'd put our son to bed.

Like everything else, it was natural. I've never been much of a romantic and neither has Julien, so it suited us.

The preparations

The idea was to organize a wedding in our image: simple and convivial.

Julien wanted a wedding in his garden with a barbecue and our loved ones, I wanted a wedding in the South, in a farmhouse and totally outdoors, but we wouldn't have been able to bring our families together.

We decided to mix the two, while staying in Lorraine.

So it was logical for us to look for a venue with a large park. The Domaine de Stanislas was the obvious choice, under a Nomade tent, totally outdoors.

We wanted our wedding to be convivial, family-oriented and fun. We didn't want to spend a lot of time at the table, so we chose the plancha option to delight everyone.

Our choice of service providers was made naturally, with people who share the same spirit as us.

The wedding atmosphere

We decided to do it all in one day, so that we could have our families and friends together. We have friends who live all over France, so it was important for us to have them with us for at least one day.

The day began with a moment of discovery. Julien and I decided to get to know each other just the two of us, so we could have a moment TO OURSELVES before meeting up with everyone else.

I always said that on my wedding day, I would be in pants, so it was natural for me to be in a pantsuit, I didn't surprise anyone! 😊

It was a magical moment, suspended in time. I cried and cried. My husband-to-be also looked so handsome in his blue suit.

I think I cried all day long.

Then the civil ceremony and the Republican baptism of our little boy.

For Anouck, it was important for Abel to have a place on such an important day - HIS place.

Then a secular ceremony at the back of the park, officiated by a long-standing friend of Julien's. An emotional ceremony, full of love and authenticity.

I surprised Julien by arriving in a dress with my little brother on my arm. A successful surprise!

After the non-denominational ceremonyFor this convivial moment with the guests, we imagined a long vin d'honneur to make the most of the occasion, with a mojito bar, whisky bar, mozzarella workshop and a live band. The perfect harmony for a successful vin d'honneur. And a beautiful ray of sunshine.

For the meal, we opted for large tables with a plancha buffet. We wanted to enjoy everyone and move around as we pleased. So we could eat a little with everyone else, without feeling like we were spending hours at the table, as if we were having a big meal with friends.

Julien left the decorating to me, much to my delight.

I knew what I wanted and so did he. A mix of vintage, nature and conviviality.

Large wooden tables with mismatched vintage chairs, the perfect combo.

And above all, blue and blue. We decided on this color for our little boy's invitation, and it followed us.

I also have a great love for peacock feathers, which I wanted to put everywhere. They were our signature!

We surrounded ourselves with several florists to really get what we wanted.

In short, a wedding filled with laughter, joy and tears of happiness!

The dress

I always wanted to get married in pants or a pantsuit, it was a no-brainer. Julien knew it too 🙂

I think a woman in pants is just as elegant and refined as a woman in a wedding dress.

But to please my groom-to-be, I decided to wear a dress anyway.

So I did 50/50, i.e. the pantsuit at the town hall and the dress for the lay ceremony.

Long dresses don't suit me and when I came home to Créanne my dress was a no-brainer before I'd even tried it on.

A crush that was confirmed when we tried them on.

A short dress with a perfecto for a touch of rock'n'roll, a touch of pep that suits my personality and our couple.

Shoe design

Dessine-moi un Soulier has been an obvious choice ever since I first met the boutique in Paris. I fell in love with their shoes and I've always said "The day I get married, it'll be Dessine-moi un soulier" and Julien loves them too. So GO!

The visit to the showroom helped me choose the right color, as the color code for my wedding was blue/duck blue, so I really wanted the right color (especially with a short dress).

The advice I can give you is to choose a heel height with which you will feel as comfortable as in your everyday shoes because you have to dance all night in them 🙂

A magical moment

For us, the lay ceremony was the highlight of the day.

Truly full of love, the speeches of our loved ones more than moving.

We both cried a lot. Julien hadn't prepared his vows, but it was beautiful!

A magical, unforgettable moment.
