My husband and I got to know each other 12 years ago through capoeira, so it wasn't at all glamorous and sexy....but rather sweaty and sporty.
Very romantic in a great restaurant, we came out of confinement and he gave me a ring and proposed.
When he saw me in my dress and cried!
We both love blue, so this color was already our essential, and then the bohemian theme spoke to us right away... we wanted it to look like us, with wood, natural materials and flowers! Finally, we did a lot of searching on Pinterest and the Internet, sending each other ideas, and when we agreed we said OK, this speaks to us, it was natural.
For the dress, I was very specific: I wanted a flowing dress where I'd feel comfortable, with a bare back. I had this image ingrained in me, so the choice of made-to-measure was a quick one. I chose a designer who works with organic cotton, and above all I wanted to keep it local.
And so, for the shoes, I wanted to break with colored shoes, hence the blue shoes.
My advice is to listen to yourself, trust yourself, make your own choices, especially if you're paying for your wedding, because no one should impose their choice on you, feel at ease, take time for yourself before and after the big day with massages and relaxation....
I found out about Dessine-moi un soulier by searching on the Internet, and what I liked was the fact that you could create your own shoe, and that was the best part. I think the site is great for the design process, the help is well done and the choice of materials is incredible.
I chose my color to be blue, then I went for a slightly retro 50's style reminding me of my grandmother's shoes with the opening at the end....when I created it, I said to myself: that's exactly it... I was a fan and then I went for velvet.
Finally, for the heel, I chose a shape that I could wear all day long... Not too small and not too high either! Above all, girls, don't think you'll be wearing them all day, just be comfortable...
Listen to yourself, have confidence in yourself this is your day, treat yourself and plan some food around 2am!!!!
