The meeting

We met in high school, in the tenth grade. That was in 2005, and we've been together ever since. Nine years later, Yoann took advantage of a lovely weekend in Barcelona to propose to me... One evening on the roof of the Arena. It was marvellous, absolutely unexpected. In fact, the first words out of my mouth were: "For real?

What impressed them:

Two moments were particularly rich in emotion for me: the moment when we discovered each other before the ceremonies. We were surrounded by our witnesses and my sisters, and we were all meeting in a wood near my parents' house. He was waiting for me from behind, and I was already extremely moved. In fact, some of our witnesses and my sisters shed a few tears. Our photographer immortalized the moment.

At the church ceremony, the village brotherhood sang the Corsican DIO VI SALVI REGINA, a tribute to the Virgin Mary, and above all the Corsican anthem. It was a very symbolic and emotional moment for both of us.

Their inspiration:

I scoured a number of wedding blogs, Pinterest, wedding magazines... Then, nourished by all this reading, I finally relied on our ideas, our desires. I created a notebook in which I wrote down all my inspirations (photos from magazines, impressions from Pinterest, flowers, colors, table names...). I walked around for a year and a half with this notebook, thanks to which our suppliers understood what kind of wedding we wanted to create.

To choose the famous dress, I went to Toulouse, where I studied, surrounded by some of my best men and bridesmaids and my Mum. I had made appointments with several boutiques, even though I had a general idea of the style I liked.
The boutique l'Univers d'Elsa Gary was a revelation. Annie, the manager, is incomparably kind and gentle. Every fitting (the object of a trip to the continent for my part) turned out to be the scene of tears of joy, wonderful memories.

To harmonize things, my bridesmaids and maids of honor chose a color palette for their light outfits. We also had a fresh flower barrette made for each of them to match my flower crown. I also gave them a gold wire bracelet with their respective first names on it. For the witnesses, we gave them the same bow tie and fresh flower boutonnieres.

For those of you who, like us, live far away from it all, we've ordered a lot of stuff on CREAVAEBAY (many French second-hand dealers sell their products there), ETSY... We salvaged things and created them with our own little hands.
We fell in love with faire-part-créatif.com who created our announcements, mass booklets and seating plans. All printing is done in the South of France on quality paper.

Shoe design:

Many blogs were referring to Dessine-moi un soulier. So I went to the site and immediately fell in love with the concept. I drew so many models that I didn't know what I really wanted! I took advantage of a weekend in Paris to visit the showroom, where I was warmly welcomed. I was able to visualize and try on several shoe shapes, heel heights etc... And I finally opted for a round-toe platform pump with crossed straps, a thick 10cm heel and a Lisa bow at the back. As for the colors, seeing the samples in "real life" helped me decide on mint velvet and fine champagne sequins for the princess look!

Julie's advice:

You have to prepare for a wedding and follow your intuition. So if, like me, you feel capable of doing everything from A to Z, go for it! I'm very organized, and despite some teasing, I had prepared a chart for our parents, witnesses and bridesmaids summarizing the day and everyone's actions... It was very useful, because the day went off without a hitch.

We'd also made a table with the photo groups, which we'd entrusted to one of my sisters. The photo parade went by relatively quickly, and above all, we didn't forget anyone! From the morning of D-day, I surrounded myself with the people dear to my heart: my mom, my sisters and my witnesses. This reassured me, and I enjoyed every moment of this long day that goes by so quickly.

Creating a special moment before the ceremonies for Yoann and I to get to know each other was the best idea we ever had. It was so intense. Doing the photos with our witnesses and bridesmaids and then the couple photos afterwards allowed me to relax and arrive at the town hall slightly less emotional.
